The Walnut Creek Planning Commission looked over the plans for the Rossmoor Shopping Center in a public meeting Feb. 25. Center developer/ owner Terrence Tallen, CEO of Tallen Capital Partners, LLC, called the review a “very detailed vetting and evaluation” and said the comments were predominantly positive.
“We are very pleased to announce that we received a unanimous seven to zero (approval),” Tallen said. “We’re very excited.”
Most of the comments from staff were directed at continuing to refine what is already in the plans, Tallen said. There were also some traffic comments.
Walnut Creek staff contact Alan Carreon, who has shepherded the project through the various commissions, said the Planning Commission only had one real concern and that was how the drive-up service window off Rossmoor Parkway would be handled. If it is a fast-food business, those plans should come back for review, he said.
