Terry Tallen was inaugurated as a Fellow in the Homer Hoyt Institute by the President of the Institute, Jeffrey D. Fisher. Jeff is Professor Emeritus at IU and is a co-founder of the IU Center for Real Estate Studies. The Institute, which is based in West Palm Beach, Florida, brings in leading real estate academics and professionals from around the world to discuss applied research and current market trends impacting real estate.

Indiana University has always played a large part in the leadership of the Institute with the late Art Weimer (former dean of the Business School) and the late George Bloom (former Professor of Real Estate) being among the founders of the Homer Hoyt Institute over 50 years ago. Professor Douglas M. McCoy is also a fellow with the Institute.

Terry Tallen is also the recipient of several awards from Indiana University including recently being presented the prestigious Laurel Pin Award by IU President, Pamela Whitten, for his philanthropic donations to the university.

Coincidentally, Terry and Doug were both former IU football team players. Terry was captain when the Hoosiers went to the Holiday Bowl in 1979 (and won 38-37).
