Terrence Tallen is the Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive of Tallen Capital Partners (“TCP”) and its related entities. TCP is a privately held, entrepreneurial, California, and Midwestern based, vertically integrated retail, mixed-use, and multifamily investment, development, and asset services organization conducting business on a national basis. Prior to forming the TCP entities, Mr. Tallen was a senior executive, corporate officer, and principal in several large private development organizations as well as public REITs operating over 320 properties comprising in excess of 40M square feet of GLA.
Mr. Tallen graduated from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. He earned a full athletic scholarship and was twice elected football team captain including co-captain of Indiana’s nationally ranked (15th UPI) 1979 Holiday Bowl Championship Team. In 2008, Mr. Tallen funded the annual Terry Tallen Football Leadership Scholarship at IU and in 2018, Mr. Tallen endowed and dedicated the state-of-the-art Terry Tallen Indiana University Football Complex. He was inducted into IU’s President’s Circle in 2020 and is a recipient of the Laurel Pin Conferral. In 2016, in recognition of his lifetime achievements, he received IU’s highest honor for a former student athlete, the Z.G. Clevenger Award. He is an inductee into the Butler County OH Sports Hall of Fame as well as the State of Indiana’s Sports Hall of Fame.
Mr. Tallen is a Policy Advisory Board member, mentor, and guest lecturer for the Burnham-Moores Real Estate Studies Program at the University of San Diego as well as the Kelley School of Business Center for Real Estate Studies at Indiana University. He serves on the Kelley School of Business Real Estate Private Equity Investment Committee advising students on making private equity investments in commercial real estate.
Mr. Tallen is a past or present member of the ULI, ICSC, and NARIET, and was inducted as a Homer Hoyt Institute Professional Fellow. He is an advisor and investor in the proptech company, RealNex, and a member of the Board of Directors of the international neuroscience company, NuCalm. He was elected as a member of the National Board of Directors of the Positive Coaching Alliance in 2023.
