Indiana University announced that the 2015 “Terry Tallen Football Leadership Scholarship” was awarded to starting middle linebacker red shirt sophomore Marcus Oliver. This endowed scholarship is awarded annually to a team captain, linebacker or starting defensive player who is enrolled in IU’s Kelly School of Business.
Terry Tallen was twice elected defensive team co-captain. and captain of Indiana’s first bowl victory defeating an undefeated Brigham Young team 38-37 in the 1979 Holiday Bowl Championship game in San Diego, CA. Along with his roommate the 1979 Big Ted MVP Tim Clifford, they are the only two-time team captains of winning football teams in the history of Indiana University.
